DULUTH, Minn. – After an incredible weekend performance against No. 12 Adrian, MSOE hockey forward Matt Hanewall has been named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association's offensive player of the week.
Hanewall, a freshman from Chicago, is the first Raider to pick up NCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors this season after recording points on six of the eight MSOE goals scored in a pair of identical 4-4 draws against nationally ranked Adrian on the road. He started things out Friday with a pair of assists, setting up goals that gave MSOE the 1-0 and 2-1 advantages. He topped that with a hat trick Saturday, scoring the first, third and fourth goals for the Raiders, while assisting the second. He finished the series with three goals and three assists for six points against the No. 12 team in the country.
Matt has participated in some F.A.S.T. programs over the past 2 Summers. Congrats Matt!
